Real Estate is an Essential Service, Now What?
You should have received an email from your local association early Saturday evening, real estate in California is now listed as an Essential Service. However, if city or county has an order that is more restrictive on activities, those guidelines will still govern the activities of a licensee. For us, the following still applies: Seniors and those with pre-existing conditions to be self-quarantine, Safer-at-Home Order (until April 19th) and Social Distancing (until April 30th). Most importantly, real estate licensee must take into account the health and safety of their clients and fellow licensees. We are waiting for an updated FAQ on the CAR website.
Activities NOT allowed:
1.) no open houses
2.) no in-person showings
3.) no inspections – vendors who provide inspections are not exempt this includes appraisers
4.) your non-licensed assistant cannot be running around for you or work out of the office

The president just signed the new Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Act into law which includes a number of financial resources available to benefit business owners and independent contractors — including REALTORS® — who are dealing with the financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. This webinar will discuss how the new legislation, along with prior state and federal stimulus programs, can provide relief to real estate agents.
Staff and Support
With this very important update, our real estate offices are available for you to use as a satellite office. As a display of social solidarity, we are asking our staff to continue to work virtually for us. Please refer to the March 17th email regarding Satellite office. There will be someone who is collecting mail and sorting it to your mailbox on a weekly basis. The processing of your Sales commission check will continue with the CDA so you will not have any delay in getting paid. If you have a lease transaction, please process it as a usually closing by sending in closing at RH office or Contact CK.
